Delhi, Agra and Jaipur — how to see the highlights without rushing, plus when to catch the Taj Mahal at its best.
The Golden Triangle connects three of India's most celebrated cities in a neat loop of roughly 720 km.
Day 1–2: Delhi
Start with Qutub Minar and Humayun's Tomb, then India Gate at dusk. Reserve the next morning for Old Delhi's lanes and Jama Masjid.
Day 3: Agra
Take the Yamuna Expressway to Agra. Visit Agra Fort in the afternoon and watch the sun set behind the Taj from Mehtab Bagh.
Day 4: Jaipur
See the Taj at sunrise — the light is magical and the crowds are thin — then drive to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri.
Day 5: The Pink City
Amer Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar and a photo stop at Hawa Mahal before heading back to Delhi.
Tip: the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.
